It is the last day of March… Do you know where your Fitbit is?  Are you one of those people that never leave home with out your Garmin on?  Well, dig out that Fitbit, sync up that Garmin and lets go!  Tomorrow starts the step challenge of the year, and there are awesome prizes to be won!

Fitness Bank has teamed up with Des Linden for an epic step challenge during the months of April and May!  The challenge was originally designed to give you the opportunity to see how your steps compared to Des as she prepared to run the Boston Marathon in May.  Now that we are in the midst of quarantine and stay safe at home orders due to Coronavirus… and the Boston Marathon has been rescheduled until fall, things have changed.  Des is taking some time off from training for Boston and has switched over to training for LIFE!

And yes, that also includes bourbon! (I knew I liked her for a reason!)

In these days of Social Distancing and finding the new norm in working from home, I am finding that I actually have more time to get outside at walk.  Here in Wisconsin (as with virtually EVERYWHERE) we are being told to “stay safe at home”… no going in to the office, no hanging out with friends… and virtually every race between now and Mid May has been cancelled or rescheduled.  But we all are also encouraged to get outside!!  The fresh air can do so much for our mental and physical well-being, we just can’t do it in groups.

Since I am still in the recovery phase after my foot surgery, I am still not able to run, but I can walk! and walk I have been! Over the last few weeks, I have been getting outside every single day, getting in a walk and exploring all kinds of amazing places! I have found places that I didn’t realize existed, I’ve seen wildlife (included a few bald eagles) and enjoyed some me time.

My challenge for you… Join the Fitness Bank Step challenge and join me in stepping it up in April and May! Like I said, it’s FREE to join and you DO NOT need to have a Fitness Bank account in order to join (although a Fitness Bank account is not a bad thing to have, but that is a whole different conversation!). All you need to do is download the Fitness Bank Step tracker (available for iOS and Android), create you account, sync your fitness tracker and start logging steps!

1. Download the APP
2. Create your account 3. Sync your tracker

Creating an account is easy to do and the app walks your though syncing your fitness tracker!

Once you have that all set up, all that’s left to do if to actually JOIN Des’ Running Group, which can be found under FitnessBank Groups on your home screen!

There are options to also set your goals, etc but as long as you are synced up and join the group, you are eligible for all kinds of prizes. There are actually 2 different ways in which you can participate:

So what are you waiting for? Download the app and join me for some fun! Let’s get outside and explore! Or dust off that treadmill and put away all the sweaters that are hanging on it. Time to get moving! But please stay safe! Like I said, here in WI, we are still able to go out and get active as long as we are following the rules of Social Distancing (hence why I am always heading out solo!). Please follow any safety guidelines and/or restrictions for your state or community! No group activities, unless it is with your immediate family that you live with!

Comment below if you join the challenge so that I can look for you and if you are daring, share your daily step goal so we can keep each other going! My goal… 12,000 steps minimum per day! Lets make this a spring to remember!
