Anyone who knows me, knows I love to run. What I love just as much as the actual run, is race bling! If there is a cool medal involved, you can probably find me there! Whether it’s a medal the size of your head or just something truly unique, I want to add it to my collection.
However, one thing I enjoy just as much is virtual races!
Why would I love virtual races?
Because I can earn bling for my training runs! If I am going to be running anyway to train for a half marathon, and I can sign up for a virtual run that will give me some bling for those training efforts, I’m there!
What is a Virtual run?
I’m glad you asked! A virtual run is a race (usually any distance between a 5k to a half marathon) in which sign up and then run your miles anywhere, anytime you choose, within a specified period of time. These races usually benefit a certain cause or organization and can bring people from all over the world “together” to run!
I have done several virtual runs over the last few years and was excite to be selected to run and promote the Scooby Doo-Good series! This series includes a race in both September and October!
For the September race, I have teamed up with my neighbor dog Koda for the 5k! We have spent time running as well as cross training – throwing the ball helps me build that upper body/arm strength and it it awesome sprint work for Koda!
We will hit the streets for our official run and complete this challenge while having some fun! I have not told Koda this, but he has some serious race swag heading his way once he finishes his race! Package includes a shirt and medal for you as well as a dog tag medal for him, as well as a sweet handkerchief!
