Big changes on the horizon!

Ok, now that the cat’s out of the bag, it’s time to let the rest of the world in on the reason why my life has been so much crazier than usual over the last few weeks!

Change can be scary, but in the words of a dear friend of mine, “It is the things that scare us deep inside that often bring out the best in us”.   (yes, you know who you are and I will never be able to thank you enough for those words that morning!)  It was these words coming across my phone one morning that gave me comfort and encouragement that, even though I was a little freaked out (ok maybe more than a little), this was exactly what I needed right now!

After 8 years and a few months, I have officially put in my notice at work.  Yes, you read that right.  I turned in my letter of resignation at work.

After spending the last 8 years in the cellular industry and the 15 years before that working in the hotel and restaurant industry, I think I finally figured out what I want to do when I grow up!  Starting September 19th, I am going back to school to get my certification as  Health and Nutrition Coach!

As many of you know, I have spent the last 10 plus years in a constant battle with my weight, losing the same pounds over and over again.  During that time I have also become more active, started working out more and developed an obsession with running.  Over the last few years, as I have added more and more running and workouts to my lifestyle, I have also really started to learn so much more about nutrition.  Most of this has been by trial and error and a ton a research on the internet.    Through all of this, fitness and nutrition have become a huge part of who I am.  What you put into your body really plays a key roll on what you can get out of it!  There is some truth to the old saying, “Garbage in, garbage out”.  What and how you fuel your body can make all the difference in how you get through each day.

Which bring us to where we are today!  It’s time to take what has become a passion of mine and use that passion to help others.  To help people understand how what the put into their body can affect so many different aspect of their life.  To turn that passion into something more!

Yes, walking away from what is comfortable and known is scary, but thanks to the awesome, supportive people around me, I know that they all have my back and will be there to encourage me along the way.  Huge thanks to my family, for without them, I know that I couldn’t take this leap of faith!  I am more than grateful to have their support on this adventure and know that they will do what they can to help me succeed.  I also have some amazing friends that have been more than encouraging along the way.  You guys all rock!  Thank you for believing in me, encouraging me and in some instances, giving me the pus that I needed to make this a reality!

The next year is going to be one huge adventure and I am excited to have all of you along to join me on the journey!

What are your dreams?  Don’t let anyone ever tell you your dreams don’t matter.  They are YOUR dreams!  Go out there and make them a reality!
